Walks Around Nidderdale
Dominated by the acidic, coarse Millstone Grit rock, Nidderdale cuts through the windswept uplands to forge a landscape of pasture and woodland and of fields and barns. Along the dale are spectacular rock formations, heather moors, old mines revealing the dale's industrial heritage, ghosts of railways and even forgotten towns, limestone gorges and caves. Nidderdale is quieter than better-known dales.
Each book contains ten walks chosen by a local expert, all walks are six miles or less and all stay below 1,500 feet. Each walk is fully described with its own easy-to-follow map and points of interest along the way.
